CBI court turns down auditor's bail plea

Hyderabad,Nov 27 (INN): Central Bureau of Investigation (Cbi) judge K Sudhakar rejected the bail petition of Mahindra Satyam's internal audit head V S Prabhakar Gupta on Friday.Gupta's counsel moved a bail plea in the court of XIV Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate seeking his release on medical grounds and contended that the petitioner is only an employee, and has no access to business transactions carried out by the proprietors and he was implicated in the case.Opposing Gupta's bail application, Cbi counsel said,``Gupta was aware of the fraud, but failed to protect the interests of the investors.'The Cbi sleuths arrested V S Prabhakar Gupta on Nov 21 for his alleged involvement in the multi-crore scam in Satyam Computers and submitted a 250-page supplementary chargesheet against him.
