Tirupati,Nov 27: The State's anti-terror wing, Octopus Commandos on Thursday night apprehended four suspected Inter Service Intelligence members from a hotel on Mangalam Road on the outskirts of the temple town.Two of the arrested persons are stated to be foreigners.One of them has identified himself as Ibrahim of Benguluru and the other belongs to Chitoor district.The four suspected ISI agents were questioned by Intelligence officials before being shifted to Hyderabad for further interrogation on the instructions of the police higher-ups.
The four have been residing in the hotel for the past five days.During interrogation,the four indicated that they had come to the temple town to have a darshan of the Tirumala Lord.The Commando unit of the Octopus was launched at Tirumala by former director general of police SSP Yadav in view of the increasing threat to the pilgrims who constantly throng the Venkateswara temple. The daily average inflow of pilgrims to the temple from India and abroad is more than 60, 000.
