Chanchaguda jail inmate attempts suicide, shifted to hospital

Hyderabad,Nov 24 (INN): An inmate in the high security Chanchalguda prison in Hyderabad,Sisodia,on Tuesday allegedly attempted suicide reportedly against the ‘illtreatement’ being meted out to the prisoners by the Jail authorities.Sisodia,an undertrail,allegedly attempted to hang himself,which kicked up trouble on the Jail compound.A critical Sisodia was rushed to the Osmania General Hospital where his condition is stated to be stable.The incident triggered trouble on the prison compound as all the inmates -- both undertrails and the convicts – launched an agitation.

They allege that certain prisoners like the Satyam Ramalingaraju,are being given VIP treatment while the others are subjected to illtreatment.They also alleged that a convict,Afsar,died recently due to the utter negligence of the Jail authorities.Though Afsar was not well,the prison officials failed to shift him to the hospital due to which he died in the absence of any medicare,the prisoners alleged. On the other hand,the Satyam Ramalinga Raju is being given a VIP treatment in the Jail,they said and questioned on the reasons as to why some inmates are getting special attention by the Jail officials.
