Fire in bank at Koti

Hyderabad,Nov 16: Merchants and businessmen surrounding the Bank of Maharashtra complex at Koti pressed panic buttons soon after they saw huge smoke billowing out of the Bank building here on Monday morning.According to the police, the fumes were noticed by a private security guard attached to the Bank at about 8:30 a.m.,and called up the Bank manager about the fire. Meanwhile, the Fire department personnel reached the spot and managed to contain the fire.

The Sultan Bazar police also rushed to the Bank. However, the officials said an electric short-circuit might have caused the fire which burnt all the computer cables in the building. No casualties were reported in the incident.The mishap at the Bank led to traffic disruption in Koti area for over three hours as a huge crowd gathered in the area.All traffic in the arterial roads leading to Abids and Imliban were disrupted.
