Khammam,Nov 11: Large scale migration of villagers into Khammam is taking place in the wake of attacks and counter-attacks between the Government forces and the Maoists in the forests of Dandakaranyam bordering Andhra Pradesh and Chattisgarh. The stiff battle between the reds and the khakis has certainly affected the innocent people. Many of them have also lost their lives. The lives of many have been paralysed, awefully.Three persons of Muniguda in Rayagada district of Orissa bordering Andhra Pradesh were gunned down by the Maoists on Wednesday.The Maoists are reported to have killed them by branding them as police informers.
Meanwhile, the police and Salwa-judum activists have landed on Thettemadugu village in Danthewada district of Chattisgarh on Tuesday and gunned down seven persons. The village has also been reduced to charred remnants of war in the firing that ensued between the police and the Salwa-judum activists.It was first reported that seven Maoists were killed in an encounter in Danthewada district.But, according to latest reports, seven persons of Thettemadugu died and that the village was attacked by the police as part of the combing suported by the salwajudum activists.Even the media is kept at a bay. The Chattisgarh police has kept a close vigil against the entry of the sneaking scribes.
There is still tension that has enveloped these incidents in the forests of Dandakaranyam.Thousands of people are shifting to the adjoining Khammam district of Andhra Pradesh from Chattisgarh. About 10,000 people have already entered the Andhra Pradesh. Inter-state migrations are still under way.
