Mahboobnagar,Nov 10: The special party police recovered a Maoist arms dump in the wee hours of Tuesday in the thick jungles of Mahboobnagar district.“During the combing operation in the Nallamalai forests in Amrabad mandal in the district, the police found the dump which contained 75 detonators, some instruments used for cleaning weapons and some extremist literature, including two audio cassettes.The recovered material, believed to be that of the Maoists, is moved to the nearby police station,” the police said.
The combing operation is still going on, the police added.A report from Adilabad says that a deputy commander of the outlawed Maoists outfit, Shyam Rao alias Devdas, surrendered before the police at the district headquarters town of Adilabad on Tuesday morning. The Maoist leader laid down arms in the presence of the Bellampalli Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) due to “ill health”,police said.
