Visakhapatnam,Nov 9: The State has been experiencing moderate rains for the past 24 hours as the North-Eastern monsoon is active across Andhra Pradesh. Besides the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, several areas in Telangana, Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra are experiencing showers.Officials at the Met Department here said on Monday that rains are likely in several areas in the State for the next 48 hours following the low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal and also because of the active North Eastern monsoon.  The low pressure area lay centered near Lakshadweep and may get strengthened further, the officials explained.Following this, districts like Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur and Krishna will have heavy to very heavy rains while showers are likely in other areas.

Temperatures across the State have recorded very low and are likely to fall further, the Met officials added. The sky in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad is overcast.Following heavy rains in Nellore in the past two days, life has been thrown out of gear in many areas in the district. Several villages are marooned due to the incessant rains and the areas that were reeling under severe drought have now experienced heavy downpour.
