Nellore,Nov 7: With the North-East monsoon being vigorous over South coastal Andhra for the past three to fourdays,Nellore district experienced heavy rains.According to the reports received her on Saturday,all the tanks and rivulets are overflowing with rain water inundating low lying areas and paralyzing normal life.The heavy rains which lashed the district in the last four days have affected the roads at several places in the district disrupting the traffic.Ramanna Cheruvu,Pilleruu Vagu,and Chippaluru Vagu are overflowing with flood waters disrupting the traffic between Alluru and Kavali. Due to heavy rains four villages in Kavali division were submerged under water.With Kaivalya rivulet overflowing with flood waters the highway between Gudur and Rapur has been completely cut.
The people living in the coastal belt of Nellore district were cautioned and the fishermen were advised not to venture for fishing until further order as the sea is very rough.With incessant rains giving no respite to the people of Nellore district,the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has cancelled all its services from Sullurupet to Chennai.Roads leading to buss tations and railway stations in several towns are water logged at several places.
