Hyderabad, July 25 :-
Recognition for 63 Engineering colleges and 18 Pharmacy Colleges under the purview of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University has been quashed as they failed to meet the norms set up by the All India Council for Technical Education. According to a press release from Higher Education chairman Mr . K C Reddy, this extreme step was taken on the basis of a report submitted by the Task Force which inspected the colleges.
``These colleges have started functioning from a long time but till today they did not make any effort to have proper teaching staff or acquire the right infrastructure to run the institutions. Despite being warned several times they still failed to meet the norms set up by the Government, so such a harsh step has to be taken,’’ said the chairman.
These colleges will not have any more fresh batches joining them but the present senior batches will continue he further added.
