Hyderabad, Nov. 4: Keeping  all the party cadre satisfied is very difficult, more so during the time of elections. Whatever the political party it may be or whatever  the elections they may contesting the result is the same. The elections to Greater Hyderabad  Municipal Corporation are s no exception.  The pulls and pressures of politicians,  the MLAs and the MPs play a vital role in the  selection of candidates in spite of the party setting up certain criteria.  As a result some  worthy  candidates fail to get the ticket.According to  reliable sources there are about 7 to 10 candidates aspiring for the party ticket in each of the 150 divisions  of  the Corporation.

The parties which  are  facing such a problem  are  the Telugu Desam, the Congressa and the MIM. While these parties face the rebel  problem inside  the party the Telangana  Rashtra Samiti  has a peculiar problem of its own. The party is still undecided whether to contest the polls or not while   some  of the  party activists wanted tocontest on their own setting  aside the part’s decision. The  threat of Rebels contesting as independents is posing a serious problem  to the party circles in the twin cities. The Rebels who contest as independent candidates  cannot be ignored as they have their own clout in the local circles.

This  is  a delicate issue to be  dealt with by the party leadership. Pacifying  the  Rebels and making  them to come to terms is a hectic job. History shows that bitter infighting is one factor that others will try to  exploit. The discipline in the  party  will come to  the  fore and the candidates will have to learn the truth  through a bitter experience.
