Hyderabad, July 24 :-
The Andhra Pradesh Administrative Tribunal on Friday directed the Directorate of School Education to stop counselling process for teachers’ transfer temporarily.
The Tribunal issued these orders to Directorate of School Education following a writ petition filed by some teachers alleging violation of GO 610 in teachers’ transfer.
The Tribunal directed the authorities not to issue transfer orders to teachers till it issue orders.
The Tribunal also expressed its displeasure over not implementing the GO 610 and transfer the non-locals to their respective areas.
The Tribunal also asked the officials concerned to attend before it on August 29.
The transfers have even affected several teacher couples who are now forced to go to different districts.
“The idea of asking the implementation of GO 610 was to ensure that employees from Andhra and Rayalseema, regions who were absorbed in excess to the ratio determined for non-locals, were transferred. But now the teachers from Telangana region are suffering,” said B Mohan Reddy, a teacher.
He said the Government could have avoided this by first transferring teachers who were willing to shift to their native areas.
