Hyderabad,Oct 22: Minister for Tourism, Culture, I&PR, FDC & Cinematography held a meeting on Thursday on the emerging subject of “Film Tourism” alongwith representatives of Film Producer’s Associations of Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu and Karnataka.The Film makers requested for Government support through a single window for the total management of logistics involved in the shooting and for obtaining all the permissions and clearances from various agencies and departments.It has been decided that a cell will be created with representatives of Tourism Department, FDC and Producers Association which will coordinate the requirements of Film makers who wish to shoot in studios and outdoors in Andhra Pradesh.It is also decided to develop a package including accommodation, travel, catering, security etc., which will be offered by the Government to the Film makers.
It is decided to prepare a print and Video catalogue of district-wise locations which will be found to be of interest by potential Film makers. Once the catalogue is ready, similar interaction sessions will be held with Film makers in different parts of the country to popularize Film Tourism in Andhra Pradesh.The Film makers who attended the meeting have welcomed this initiative and hoped that Andhra Pradesh will become a model in the country for Film Tourism.The meeting was attended by Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary, Tourism, C.Parthasarathi, Commissioner of I&PR, B.Venkatesam, M.D., APTDC, G.Adiseshagiri Rao, M.D., M/s Padmalaya Studios Pvt.
