TTD inaugurates ‘Seeghra Darshan’ today

Tirupati,Oct 21: To facilitate the hassle-free-darshan to the pilgrims without any revenue generating motive and at the same time ‘crushing’ the decade-long middlemen menace who have been running a parallel administration, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Wednesday introduced the much-awaited ‘Seeghra Darshan’system at the crack of dawn on Wednesday.Inaugurating the Seeghra Darshan ticket counter, the TTD Chairman Adikesavulu Naidu said that the new system would facilitate the devotees to gain easy entry into ‘Vaikuntam’ queue complex for darshan of the presiding deity of Lord Venkateswara without any VIP recommendation letters.

With the introduction of the new ‘darshan’ system, tickets for ‘archana ananthara darshan’ and cellar entry tickets (which gave scope for middlemen to spin easy money) will be scrapped, he said and added the new facility is in addition to the free darshan queue and the Rs 50 tickets queue. The price of this ticket is fixed as Rs 300 per head.TTD Executive Officer I Y Krishna Rao hoped the new system would not only put a stop to cases of recommendation from influential quarters to provide speedy access for darshan, but also curb the middlemen menace on the hills.
