Kurnool, Oct 12: Demanding to provide better relief in flood affected areas, the activists of Students Federation of India on Monday obstructed the Chief Minister’s convoy and shouted slogans against like “CM go back”.The members expressed their displeasure at the slow pace of response from the state government to the flood victims in Kurnool.The Chief Minister is touring flood hit parts in Nandhyala and Kurnool district on Monday.The activists urged the CM to help students in flood hit areas by waiving school and college fees and repairing the schools.

As the situation threatened to turn ugly, the police resorted to a mild lathi charge to disperse the activists.In another incident that occurred at Bonkuru in Manavapadu mandal in Mahabubnagar district, the flood victims staged rasta roko alleging government’s total failure in providing relief to the flood victims.The villagers said that if the Chief Minister had come during the floods, it may have been of some use.They appealed to the officials to provide immediate succor to flood victims.They demanded the government provide relief in cash to purchase essential commodities and household articles and for house repairs.
