Last date for Metro rail bids extended

Hyderabad, Oct 1 :

 On the basis of representations from some of the firms which purchased the pre-qualification documents for the Hyderabad Metro Rail project, Government of Andhra Pradesh has extended the due date for receipt of Request for Qualification (RFQ) applications by a month from October 03 to November 2.

The reasons cited by these prospective applicants for the extension included more time for approvals by their respective Company Boards, the spade work required for bidding for this mega infrastructure project, procurement of various certificates of experience and other technical and financial credentials from various agencies, vetting of legal documents of foreign companies by Indian embassies in those countries, negative travel advice by certain countries like the US against travel to India because of swine flu etc. Consequently, the new due date for submission of financial bids is January 22, 2010.  All the consequential changes in the ‘event dates’ are posted on HMR website:www.hyderabadMetrorail.in
