Hyderabad, Oct 1 :
With the state experiencing heavy rains in the last two days there is a heavy inflow of flood waters to Nagarjuna Sagar dam. The officials are expecting the dam to be filled to capacity by Friday after noon. If the inflow does not recede then the authorities will lift some of the crest gates to release the excess water.
Srisailam dam is already to filled to capacity and ten crest gates had been lifted to release the water to Sagar.Meanwhile in Vijayawada the Krishna barrage is filled to capacity and all the 43 crest gates have been lifted. People living in the low lying areas down the river Krishna in Vijayawada have been alerted.
