ENT docs stage dharna to protect hospital

 The doctors and paramedical staff here boycotted their duties not for pressing their demands and for revising their salary or other benefits. They demanded to protect their hospital premises and lands from encroachers and lands sharks. The ENT Hospital doctors and paramedical staff at Koti in the city on Friday boycotted their duties demanding the government to protect hospital premises from encroachments.

The doctors said that the encroachers with the connivance of some top officials are encroaching lands worth crores of rupees in the ENT hospital. One of the doctor, on the condition of anonymity said that the loopholes in the laws are giving an opportunity for land grabbers to encroach crores of rupees worth lands in the hospital premises.

The doctors also criticized the apathy of revenue officials for not taking proper steps against preventing encroachments in the hospital as it is located in prime area. They questioned the officials for playing mute spectator role when the encroachers grabbing lands reserved for public cause. They also alleged that the hands of some higher officials and politicians were also involved in encroachment of lands in the hospital premises. The doctors demanded the government to take steps for preventing encroachments and protect the hospital premises by constructing a compound wall.
