The Tirumala Tirupati Dewasthanam has laid out a fest of religious discourses, devotional concerts and bhajans for benefit of large congregation of devotees from all over the country for the Brahmotsavam -2009
Dr Chilakapati Vijaya Raghavacharyulu, secretary of Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad (HDP), told reporters at the media centre at Tirumala organised specially for the Brahmotsavam that discourses and Bhakti Sankeetrans were specially organised to the benefit of visiting devotees. 15 bhajan troupes and sankeertans by eminent performers like Dr Shobaraju, Vishnu Sahasranama Sankeertan by the All India Vishnu Sahasranama Federation were held through out the day.
The HDP secretary said the Veda Parayana was also being conducted by the vedic scholars and students of Dharmagiri in Tirumala and also the Keesaragutta Veda Pathashala. Dr P Srinivas , the grand son M S Rama Rao, whose melodious singing of Rama Charita was rendering the Sundara Kand for three hours in the morning and Rajendra daji Maharaj of Brindavan ( UP) presented a 4 hour Sangeeta Bhagavad Katha for another four hours.
The parishad has also organised bhajan teams, dance troupes, ashtavadhani performers and ballet performers to present their skills in the special platform set up in front of the Srivari Temple and also in the Asthana Mantapam besides in front of the Vahanams at the four mada streets.
"The objective is to present event as not only religious but also part of a social exercise to display cultural ethos that extolled the divine and spiritual lore of Tirumala and Lord Venkateswara besides present the visitors a bright and colourful picture on the basis of religious beliefs and practices," says Dr C V Raghavacharyalu, secretary of the HDPP.
