Hyderabad, Sept 19 :

With increasing threats from Chamundi’s men, two women Cricketers from Andhra Pradesh —Ramadevi and Monica Sai feared for their lives and sought government protection on Saturday. They met Minister for Home Mrs Sabitha Indra Reddy and appealed to her to provide protection to their lives as Chamundi's men are scaring them with threatening phone calls.

Disclosing their woes to Sabita Iindra Reddy, they requested her to come to their rescue. Chamundi’s men warned them of dire consequences if they do not withdraw their complaints against Chamundeswarinath.Compounding the problem, the Machavaram police also are backing Chamundi’s men by not recording our complaints against them, they bemoaned.

The very fact  that the police did not record the complaint filed by Ramadevi stating that her brother was kidnapped by Chamundi’s men is an ample proof to show the apathy of police towards the women crickets, lamented the women Cricketers.

The suspended ACA secretary Chamundeswaranath is facing a slew of charges which include fraud, financial irregularities, favouritism in selection of women Cricketers, sexual harassment and indecent behaviour.

More than a dozen women Cricketers have lodged complaint against Chamundi alleging that he had tried to sexually abuse them and harassed them whoever refused his requests. They have also lodged complaints with the local police.
