One student died after consuming meal

Ongole, Sept 10 :

One student died and as many as 10 students of a primary school were taken ill after having mid-day meal at Velugonda Residential school in Prakasam district, official sources said.

District Education officer stated that the students complained of giddiness, vomiting and lose motion after taking the meal and were rushed to the Government Hospital in Ongole. One student died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. “All the 10 children have been given saline water and are better now,” the doctors said. The Headmaster was cited as saying that on inspection a dead lizard was found in the food which was distributed among the students.
