Is Satyanarayana Vrata Mahotsavam in USA a BUSINESS?

With all the assistance from TTD and State Government; there was a successful event of Srinivasa Kalyanam in various cities of USA. Following on the same lines, Subba Rao; a Hindu religious events organizer in USA has come up with the concept of Satyanarayana Vrata Mahotsavam which is to kick start from tomorrow in nearly 10 cities of USA.

This grand event is to be conducted with all the support from Annavaram Devasthanam and Endowments Department in state as idols of Satyadeva and priests in huge numbers will be flown to USA. With Lakhs of rupees already collected in the name of Vrata Mahotsavam; a section of Brahmans in Annavaram Devasthanam are raising severe criticism in making this event a business to fill the pockets by few of the organizers and Endowments department.

‘As per Vedas and Dharma Shastra; to travel across the Oceans or Seas is treated as a sin for Brahmans which attributes to loosing of their Archaka status. Same do apply for Satyadeva idols as this godly form of statues loose their divinity once they travel in Aeroplane. What is the use of performing Vrata Mahotsavam to those idols which doesn’t have any power? Why can’t you select the priests and idols in USA itself? What is the use of pulling Annavaram Devasthanam into this whole business?’ questioned few of the Senior Veda Pundits who are strongly opposing the conducting of such religious events in the form of a good business.
