Crowds throng temple for Goddess Annapurna darshan

Maha Chavithi the fourth day of the Navaratri celebrations was observed by devotees of Goddess Kanaka Durga in her incarnation as Annapurna Devi (Goddess for food) at the hill shrine Kanakadurga temple at Vijayawada in Krishna district.

Special rituals were performed since early morning by temple priests after which the idol of the Goddess, in her incarnation of Annapurna Devi.

Devotees from various districts were seen thronging the temple since early morning. The joy of the devotees on having darshan of the Goddess was evident from the brightness of their faces.

Devotees believe that by worshiping goddess Annapurna Devi, harvest will be plentiful in the country.
