Non-bailable warrant against SI Ranganath Goud

Ponnuru Court on Monday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Nellore Traffic Sub-Inspector Ranganath Goud over the allegations made by Razia Sultana.

The Court issued the warrant after Ranganath Goud failed to present himself before it. According to the court, Ranganath has been failed to appear before the Court since the past 8 weeks.

The court ordered that the sub-inspector be arrested and produced before it by October 12.

Ranganath Goud had earlier been suspended and then reinstated after a woman, Razia Sultana had alleged that he had entered into physical relationship with her after promising to marry her.

She had also undertaken a fast-unto-death but called it off after being assured by the authorities that justice would be done to her.

Police had registered a case against the SI under Sections 376 (Sexual Assault), 417 (Cheating) and 506 of IPC (Criminal Intimidation).
