Vaitla: I Never Asked Mahesh Babu

Irrespective of a fact that director Srinu Vaitla delivered three consecutive flops, Mythri Movie Makers allotted massive budget for their latest production Amar Akbar Antony with Vaitla. The Raviteja and Ileana starrer film was shot completely in the USA's picturesque locations.

How could Srinu Vaitla bag the chance to direct a film in a prestigious banner, even after scoring flops? The director clarifies saying, in his entire career he hasn’t approached any actor or production house for an offer. He did 2 films with Mahesh Babu- Dookudu and Aagadu. However, Vaitla says he never asked Mahesh Babu to give him a chance.

“My mentality is that, I don’t obligate anyone. I always have 2 to 3 producers for my next ventures. Likewise, I signed Mythri Movie Makers long ago. If I feel like my story suits a particular hero, I’ll approach him and narrate the story. I don’t force them to sign me. Similarly, Mahesh Babu did 2 films with me as he liked scripts and had huge faith on me,” said Srinu Vaitla.

Srinu Vaitla also clarified that, he finished Amar Akbar Antony within estimated budget. He cited delay in CG work as reason for the film’s postponement from the scheduled release date. The director also guaranteed AAA to have his mark comedy.
