Latest talk of the Indian film industry, The Kerala Story is having a blast at the box-office despite allegations over misinformation and controversies surrounding the film. The film is emerging as a blockbuster with terrific word of mouth from the audiences. The boxoffice figures shows that the audience are Keats bothered about whether it is propaganda or genuine as long as the film engages them with emotional content. The Kerala Files minutes Rs 35 Crores in three days.
The Adah Sharma starrer earned Rs 16.50 crore on Sunday (May 7). This brings the first weekend collection of the film to an impressive Rs 35.75 crore. The movie also enjoyed a 53 percent occupancy rate in the Hindi belt. The film opened with Rs 8 CR on its first day and jumped to collecting Rs 11 crs on its second day.
As the film is about exposing a massive religion conversions of young girls in th name of love and support. Later making them join ISIS to perform terrorist activities. Due to this several states, including Tamil Nadu have cancelled screening citing to communal differences. It also find reception where Madhya Pradesh state declared tax-free for the film.
The film is directed by Sudipto Sen and Adah Sharma played the lead role while Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani and Sonia Balani in other important roles. Vipul Amritlal Shah has backed the film. The Kerala Story has surpassed The Kashmir Files first day and first weekend collections so far. The Kashmir Files earned Rs 3.5 crores on its first day and 27 Crs in its first weekend.
