After TKF, The Kashmir Files last year now it is TKS, The Kerala Story - films those became a hot topic with their controversial themes. While The Kashmir Files is about the exodus of Kashmiri pundits from Kashmir valley, The Kerala Story deals with converting Kerala women into Islam forcefully and make them work for terrorist organisations, as per makers.

Kerala government banned the film and wanted to stop it's release by filing a petition at several courts and finally in Supreme court. But, Supreme court denied to issue a stay on film citing that it's not possible to stop the film once CBFC has rated and passed it through.

Inspite of supreme court's order several national chain multiplexes has decided not to screen The Kerala Story in their theatres in Kerala State. Only INOX has opened one show in their screen. But, local theatres came forward to play the film in their screens. The film is being played in 30 screens all over the state.

Theatre owners are saying that bookings for the film were average, despite the huge adverse publicity generated by it, but were unmoved by any protests or adverse reactions. The Kerala Story starring Adah Sharma is written and directed by Sudipto Sen. The film opened today with mixed reviews many calling it as Disturbing and Manipulative.
