Is Karthik Dandu not Sukumar's protege? Karthik Dandu is hogging the media limelight as the film Virupaksha directed by him and starring Sai Dharam Tej and Samyuktha Menon is casting a magic spell on movie lovers.

With star director Sukumar getting associated with the project and providing the screenplay for the film, many came to the conclusion that Karthik is his protege of Sukumar.

But inside talk is Karthik is not a protege of Sukumar. He made his debut as a director with Bham Bholenath;. The film did not do well and he readied Virupaksha's story and tried to get producers for his story. He narrated it to a producer and this producer happened to be Sukumar's friend.

The producer told the story to Sukumar and he loved it and agreed to write the screenplay for him. He also got associated with the production and then gave suggestions to Karthik over the twists. Thus though Karthik is not a protege of Sukumar, he scored a hit in form of Virupaksha with the help of Sukumar.
