What s Wrong with Samantha and Shaakuntalam Premiers

The reason behind the cancelation of Shaakuntalam premiers is becoming the talking point. Shaakuntalam happens to be the most awaited project as Samantha is playing the lead role and the film directed by Gunasekhar is based on Kalidas' Abhiganana Shaakuntalam which has links to Adi Parva in the epic Mahabharata. The film is releasing on 14 April 2023 and excitement is increasing. The film is releasing in various languages across the country and Samantha is pinning all her hopes as it is releasing in 3D format also.

The makers are promoting the film in a big way and Samantha has been promoting it across the country. The makers have been screening special and premier shows for select media personnel and celebrities and people who have watched the film are showering praises on the film. In the midst of all this, Samantha suddenly called off her promotions and the makers also stopped the premier shows canceling it completely.

Rumors spread that Samantha was not keen on promoting the film as she felt that the film's output was not up to the mark and the makers canceled the shows for the fear of negative talk and reviews spreading on social media. Following these rumors, Samantha posted Unfortunately the hectic schedules and promotions have taken its toll, and I am down with a fever and have lost my voice,” and Gunasekhar shared that the premiers were canceled due to a technical snag.

He said after the premier show on 10 April, they noticed a few loopholes and once they are sorted out, they will be screening the premiers for media on 13 April 2023. It has to be seen how movie lovers receive Shaakuntalam and what impact it makes at the box office.
