Difference between Bollywood - Tollywood reviewers

Critics of Bollywood genial and Tollywood brutal. Seems after a close observation of Bollywood and Tollywood reviews. Right from the beginning if one observed the ratings of the Tollywood critics for their movies and Bollywood critics for their movies, many from Tollywood mercilessly panned each and every film and did not leave even Rajamouli's films Baahubali and RRR which won international acclaim. Even for these two films, many hardly gave 3-3.5 ratings.

The trend continued even when the industry was reeling post covid. Being brutal in their reviews, Tollywood critics called for content-based films as movie lovers got used to OTTs. But the condition in Bollywood seemed to be different. Even before covid and after covid, for almost all the films, the critics remained genial and considerate and used to give 3 ratings for most of the films starting with a minimum rating of 2.5.

But they did not show the same consideration while reviewing other language films from the south which was not the case with south critics when they reviewed Bollywood films. In the process, while south films stormed Bollywood and started crushing them, Bollywood critics became more generous and even started promoting below-average films as super hits and average films as blockbusters to revive their industry vis-a-vis others. However, they should realize that people are not fools and they see through their hidden agenda. Finally, the difference between Bollywood and Tollywood reviewers is that Bollywood reviewers are genial while Tollywood reviewers are brutal.
