The actress received the honour for not only being part of some of the biggest blockbusters like 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' but also for being consistent since her Tollywood debut many years ago. Her characters from films as different as 'Mukunda', 'Aravindha Sametha', 'Maharshi', 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo', 'Radhe Shyam' and 'Beast' have fetched her the well-deserved honour.

"Her screen presence is impeccable, making the youngsters of the country all head over heels. She stands tall as the symbol of perfection. This 'Butta Bomma' makes it hard for the youth to take their eyes off. She can make the young hearts race with her 'Arabic Kuthu moves," SIIMA said while giving her the recognition, mentioning also her love-struck Prerna from 'Radhe Shyam', alluring Nilambari from 'Acharya', the opinionated woman from 'Aravindha Sametha', and the devotional 'Gopikamma' from 'Mukunda'.

"I think the biggest compliment I ever get is that I am known by my characters and songs. I feel that the youth icon honour is something that is so intense. It is a great sign that if you are authentically and unapologetically yourself, I guess, somewhere down the line, you will inspire people. I am really about this," Pooja said, receiving the award, also thanking her ever-supportive parents. She added that there is no excellence without labour, giving a glimpse of her work ethic.
