Is Rowdy Star Vijay Devarakonda going Mr.Perfectionist Aamir Khan's way? This is what people are wondering after watching his action entertainer Liger which marked his Bollywood debut and which was released in an extravagant manner on August 25, 2022. It is known that Vijay Devarakonda attained immense stardom within a short span. His rise to stardom made many top stars in Tollywood turn envious of him as he had no film background. Vijay Devarakonda attained stardom doing different genre films like Pelli Chupulu, Arjun Reddy, and Geetha Govindam after appearing in small roles in a few films.
All three films turned out to be sensational hits and he tried a different entertainer Taxiwala which also did quite well. The sensation of Arjun Reddy turned him into an overnight star across the country. He became the female heartthrob and got voted as the most desired male celebrity consecutively. He decided to test his luck in Bollywood with Liger. The film turned out to be a routine entertainer with no real emotions. Though Vijay Devarakonda chiseled his physique and trained hard under mixed martial arts experts, even his acting prowess couldn't save the stale film.
Liger movie many feel is giving a wakeup call to Vijay Devarakonda to introspect and give direction to his career which is turning rudderless of late. Following the success of Arjun Reddy, his character in his next films like NOTA, Dear Comrade, and World Famous Lover at one other time had the shades of Arjun Reddy. Though movie lovers tried to be considerate enough and ignored them initially, now are of the opinion that he is turning monotonous and coming with the same expressions and emotions. This, many feels is similar to Aamir Khan who came up with similar expressions in PK and Laal Singh Chadda and both turned out to be disasters.
He should realize that he tasted success doing different genre films like Pelli Chupulu, Geetha Govindam, and Arjun Reddy, and not all Arjun Reddy kind of movies. Vijay Devarakonda should try something new and pay attention and concentrate on strong stories and scripts rather than popular banners and mass directors and Bollywood heroines. If he doesn't take corrective measures as quickly as possible, his success mountain (Konda) will evaporate and he will slide at a faster rate than he reached stardom and crash down with a thud.
