When Mega Star brushed away Upendra's dream

Sandalwood star Upendra is a known face in Tollywood. There were times when his dubbed films competed with the top Tollywood stars' films. Later he concentrated on Sandalwood and became a star hero. He appeared in important roles in Telugu films and shares good relations with Mega Star Chiranjeevi and his family.

Upendra played important roles in Allu Arjun's S/O Satyamurthy and recently he played an important role in Varun Tej's Ghani. He starred in Naga Babu's Oke Mata. Upendra said ' I dreamed of directing Chiranjeevi and once I got the golden opportunity. Aswini Dutt was supposed to produce the project.  However, for some reason, it did not take off. Once I met Chiranjeevi in the flight and I expressed to him saying ' sir I would like to direct a film with you as the hero'.Chiranjeevi smiled and said' Upendra Garu, you are ruling the Sandalwood and became a busy actor there. How could be possible now?".

Upendra continued 'If I get a good story, I will definitely direct Chiranjeevi. I am currently writing a powerful story sitting in my farm house'
