Nagarjuna is enjoying the response his film Bangarraju is getting at the box office. Nagarjuna unleashed Bangarraju as a Sankranti treat after the biggies like RRR, Radhe Shyam and Bheemla Nayak were postponed due to various reasons. During the film promos, Nagarjuna said Bangarraju is a perfect festival entertainer and has all the delicacies a festival has.

He said he and his son Naga Chaitanya will be surprising all on the big screen and the presence of eight young heroines will be a colorful feast.  However, those who watched the film felt that despite everything in his favor, Nagarjuna failed to offer festival delicacies but served them only routine dishes. Bangaraju offered routine flavors with few colors instead of delicious and different kinds of dishes.

They are heard commenting that Nagarjuna turned Bangarraju as the old wine in an old bottle and Nagarjuna failed to show his son Naga Chaitanya in a different manner. They felt that Nagarjuna stuffed the film with routine elements and had the film not been released during Sankranti it would have bombed at the box office.

Movie lovers are disappointed that though Nagarjuna got everything in favor like a solo release with no big film on Sankranti, and his friend AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy postponing the night curfew and  50% occupancy and even became lenient on raids on theatres, Nagarjuna failed to take the full advantage.
