It is known that Tollywood has been passing through tough times following the outbreak of corona virus and its deadly impact. During the lockdown many suffered losses and many left jobless. After the lockdown, exhibitors and distributors faced huge problems and theatres faced the issue of low ticket prices. For long Tollywood celebrities have been pleading with the CMs of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to allow them to increase ticket rates during the first week of the film releases.
Telangana CM KCR heeded to their request and reacted positively and the TS government passed a GO yesterday allowing the theatre owners to increase the ticket rates. Thus minimum ticket price in AC theatre was fixed at Rs. 50 and the maximum at Rs. 150 excluding GST.
The entire industry is elated and Mega Star Chiranjeevi bowled by CM KCR's crucial decision duly thanked him for the same. Sharing his feelings, he posted 'Thanks to Telangana Chief Minister Shri KCR for hearing to therequest of the Telugu film industry and revising the cinema ticket rates to bring justice to the producers, distributors and theater owners"
