Mega Prince Varun Tej's sports-based entertainer Ghani directed by Kiran Korrapati is releasing in a grand manner on November 4th as a Diwali treat. Varun Tej is playing the role of a boxer in the film which stars Saiee Manjrekar as the heroine.
Naveen Chandra is also playing an important role in the film. Speaking to scribes, Naveen Chandra revealed that he is playing the role of a boxer. He said he underwent a lot of training in boxing under national-level boxers and coach Srikanth for more than three months. He said it was physically and mentally challenging and he worked on his fitness, body language, posture, guard, the timing of the punches, kicks, etc.
He said even Varun Tej trained hard for his role. He added that both shared great chemistry and revealed that after watching their performances, people will say that they performed like real boxers. He said both of them trained under a Russian boxer and the diet was also different taking more veggies and proteins cutting the carbs.
He said it was challenging as both he and Varun Tej had to shoot for hours continuously in the ring wearing the boxing gear for more than a week. Naveen revealed that his uncle was a professional boxer and he too once planned to turn a boxer but his mother asked him to concentrate on his studies.
