Mohan Babu could have saved Soundarya

Movie lovers felt that they would never get an actress like Mahanati Savitri but when Soundarya entered the scene, everyone hailed praises on her for her beauty and powerful performances.

But Soundarya died in a tragic plane crash leaving everyone shellshocked and in tears. One can know Soundarya's greatness as an actress just by the fact that Balakrishna who planned to make Nartanasala and even started shooting with Soundarya in the role of Draupadi, shelved the project as he felt that none can do them justice for the role of Draupadi like Soundarya.

On the eve of Soundarya's death anniversary, Kapuganti Rajendra who worked under Dasarei Narayana Rao and then directed Dabbu Bhale Jabbu under Geeta Arts speaking to scribes said Mohan Babu could have saved Soundarya.

He said ' During Shiva Shankar shoot, after 65% shoot Soundarya went for election campaigning for BJP in a helicopter. Generally, Mohan Babu doesn't permit any of the cast to leave his films in the middle of the shoot but for some reason, Mohan Babu let Soundarya leave at her request. Had Mohan Babu stopped Soundarya, she would have been alive. After her tragic demise, Shiv Shankar's story and the climax were changed. The film's disaster-affected my career. I was supposed to direct Pawan Kalyan after Toli Prema but for some reason, the project did not take off".
