Power Star Pawan Kalyan's Janasena contested in the general polls, 2019. However, the end result was a debacle. Though Janasena got 6% of the total share, the party got its total number of MLA seats confined to just one. Pawan Kalyan, himself, was defeated at Gajuwaka and Bheemavaram.

Tamil legendary hero Kama Haasan experienced even worse disaster in the recent general elections. His party, MNM, which contested in 42 assembly constituencies, couldn't bag even one constituency. The total vote share of the party stands at 2.4%. Kamal Haasan was defeated by the BJP contestant Vanathi Srinivasan in Coimbatore South constituency.

Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth was extremely scared of the defeat thus he firmly decided to stay away from the politics forever.

Vijayakanth and a few others became the faded out politicians from the cine industry.

For time being, Megastar Chiranjeevi stands out as the last achiever in politics among the cine personnel. His Prajarajyam won 18 MLA seats with a total vote share of 18% in 2009 general elections. Chiranjeevi won from Tirupati assembly constituency then. Later, he merged the PRP into the Congress party. Afterwards, he was made the Rajyasabha MP and eventually the Union Tourism Minister. As is known, a union minister's status is on par with the status of the CM of a state. As a union minister, Chiranjeevi initiated many developmental programmes across India in the tourism sector.

Chiranjeevi, however, got vexed by the cunning politics as he denounced them and made a re-entry to Tollywood. As expected, he attained an overwhelming reception from the people with his back to back blockbusters Khaidi Number 150 and Sye Raa Narasimhareddy.
