Kannada Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar’s recently released film Yuvarathnaa has completed its first week run in theatres. The action-entertainer which hit the cinemas on April 1 opened to a massive response at the theatres in Kannada, while it turned out to be a disaster in Telugu.
Yuvarathnaa in its first week collected 27.75 Cr net in Kannada, while it minted just 67 lakhs in Telugu. Written and directed by Santhosh Ananddram, the film revolves around the theme of education mafia and abuse of power. Interestingly, this film will be available in Amazon Prime Video from tomorrow.
The Karnataka government recently announced a new set of guidelines to combat the spike in Covid-19 cases in the state. Since the second wave has hit India hard, the state governments are back at imposing new guidelines to tackle the second wave. According to the latest guidelines, theatres in Karnataka will operate with 50 per cent occupancy in around eight districts.
Kannada stars Puneeth Rajkumar and Sudeep requested the government to rethink the guidelines for theatres. Since there’s no positive response, the makers of Yuvarathnaa decided to stream the film on OTT platform from second week itself.
