Stunned by an article about biggest IT scam, Vishnu Manchu did some research in Mumbai and other areas to write a script for his film. He initially planned to make it as an English film and roped in mostly foreign technicians. Jeffrey Gee Chin and Sheldon Chau had come on board as director and cinematographer respectively.
But, as the budget was increasing, Vishnu Manchu decided to make Indian version as well. However, due to corona pandemic and subsequent lockdown, the film’s release got postponed. This caused further increase in budget. Vishnu put aside the English version and wrapped up Indian version post lockdown.
Made on a budget of 50 Cr, Mosagallu was released last week to disaster talk and it is making below par business at box office. As per trade reports, the film may not recover even release expenses. The question now is will Vishnu wrap up the remaining portions of Fraudsters and release it.
The actor is said to be in two minds. Shooting the remaining portions will cost him a bomb. And then, if he doesn’t complete and release English version, it will be a big loss for him. At least he can get OTT deals, if he wraps up the film. It has to be seen what he decides!
