Telugu newspaper Eenadu has some die hard fans. But most of them seemed to have developed unrest on the newspaper. "Until 1983, the newspaper could maintain the best standards in journalism. Thereafter, the values have gradually been deteriorating as the newspaper appeared to have supported a political party and a caste," alleges one of the die hard fans.
Proving aforementioned argument true, Eenadu committed a huge blunder, lately. It is a known news that Megastar Chiranjeevi opposed the privatization of Vizag Steel Plant and extended his solidarity and support to the protesters.
Chiranjeevi's tweet was given prominence by many media houses including social media.
But then, Eenadu, which appeared to have supported the protests against privatization, published Chiranjeevi's tweet in the third page instead of the first page. This is not just the reason mega fans and newspaper analysts irked with the poor journalism. On the same day, KTR's support to Vizag Steel Agitation was published in the first page. The newspaper might have justified its act citing the political backdrop of KTR.
But then, the media should understand the fact that Chiranjeevi's status has now reached beyond any profession in any field. The newspaper will be respected by the people for honouring the opinions of such all time legendary personalities.
"Today, an yellow party has gone to the shed due to such biased journalism of the media houses. These media houses should repent with their blunders at least now and should work to restore the losing values and ethics in journalism," analyzed a senior critic of media houses.
