Kajal’s next release is here

Kajal Aggarwal is trying her luck in Hindi cinema after a five-year break. She had shot for Sanjay Gupta’s Mumbai Saga starring John Abraham, Emraan Hashmi in early 2020 and the release was pushed by a year after the pandemic. Though the film was extremely close to having a direct-to-OTT release on Amazon Prime Video, the makers of Mumbai Saga have confirmed that it will have a theatrical release on March 19, this Wednesday.

Along with the release day announcement, the teaser of the film was released and it promised a gritty action fare in the offing. It’s set in a time where Mumbai was called Bombay, violence was a regular occurrence in the streets and a police officer played by Emraan is after the life of an underworld gangster, a role essayed by John Abraham. Kajal is cast in the part of the latter’s love interest.

In a recent interview, the actress, talking about her role in the film, had said to a famed Hindi film portal, “I play a very feisty, young girl, who is paired opposite John (Abraham), and how they both take the story forward. She is quite an instrumental character in John's life.” Sanjay Gupta is a director who’s known for his slick crime thrillers and John has had a good run with action films lately.
