Bollywood Star Remaking Pawan's Flop

Power Star Pawan Kalyan sometime back starred in a mass action entertainer Katamarayudu. The film which released amidst huge expectations turned out to be a disaster. Katamarayudu was a remake of Tamil hit Veeram. Some Tamil films though failed in Tollywood, impressed Bollywood movie lovers. So now plans are on to remake Veeram in Bollywood.

During Katamarayudu shooting itself rumours spread that Akshay Kumar will star in Katamarayudu remake and the film will be titled as The Land of Lungi. But later the makers named the film as Bachchan Pandey and it turned out to be the remake of another Tamil hit Jigarthanda.

But Veeram remake didn't materialize and it seems after Katamarayudu flop, Akshay didn't show interest in the remake. Now sources say the project went to Salman Khan from Akshay Kumar. Salman Khan is presently doing Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali under the direction of Farhad Samji. During the launch, the makers didn't call it as the remake of Veeram.

However, there have been rumours that the film is Veeram remake and the makers took the main line and changed the story accordingly. The makers added Hindu Muslim angle to it.
