This week, Tollywood witnessed release of two films. Vaishnav Tej and Krithi Shetty’s Uppena directed by Buchi Babu Sana released on Friday in record number of theatres with positive buzz, wherein Jagapathi Babu’s FCUK (Father Chitti Uma Karthik) clashed with the film and this Vidya Sagar Raju directorial too was released in good number of theatres.
While Uppena got encouraging reports from morning shows, FCUK got lukewarm response from all over. Uppena has knocked down FCUK, as many shows of the film got cancelled due to pathetic response. When very few people went to watch the film from noon shows, they were surprised to inform that the shows were cancelled.
Apparently, most of the audiences who didn’t get the tickets of Uppena preferred to wait for next show, rather than making the big experiment of watching FCUK. Despite the fact that the film came from the popular production house of Sri Ranjith Movies, the film failed to bring audience to theatres from first day itself.
On the other hand, Uppena is exceptional at the box office. The film, as we reported earlier, has collected a share of Rs 10.42 Cr worldwide.
