Very few big filmmakers have the big heart to produce or present a film for their assistants. LV Prasad, Adurthi Subba Rao, Dasari, Raghavendra Rao were towering examples in that category in the yesteryears. In this generation, directors like Shankar, Sukumar and Maruthi have gone onto produce and help in many projects of their former assistants. Now, successful director Anil Ravipudi too joins the list with Gaali Sampath.
Not only is Anil Ravipudi a presenter for his former co-director/writer S Krishna’s project Gaali Sampath, he has also provided screenplay and personally surpervised the shoot. The film, to release on March 11, is being produced by S Krishna alongside Saahu Garapati and Harish Peddi. Gaali Sampath, directed by Anish, has an impressive cast in the form of Sree Vishnu, in addition to Lovely Singh and Rajendra Prasad (in the title role).
The quirky entertainer has already completed shoot and is undergoing post-production formalities. Gaali Sampath’s release will clash with Sharwanand’s Sreekaram. However, given the fact that the former is being made under a small budget and the target audience for both films are different, it shouldn’t affect either of the films.
