Will Karnataka Ban Telugu Movies?

Karnataka is one of the biggest markets for Tollywood. Star heroes like Chiranjeevi, Prabhas, NTR, Pawan Kalyan etc. have market value equal to that of Kannada star heroes. In fact, Kannada heroes share good rapport with Tollywood stars. In the meantime, a Kannada hero proposed ban on Telugu films in the state.

Hero Darshan announced to release his film Roberrt on March11th. However, Tollywood biggies him to postpone the film to other date, as there are various other movies like Gaali Sampath, Sreekaram and Jathi Ratnalu are releasing on the date.

Irked with this, Darshan fired on Tollywood and asked Karantaka producers to impose ban on Tollywood movies in Karnataka. He has also recalled that, Karnataka welcomes films of the other languages.

Given Darshan is one of the top stars of Sandalwood; the Kannada industry may consider his proposal. If they really think about imposing ban on Telugu films, it will be a big blow for Tollywood filmmakers.

Apparently, Tollywood will react after the decision Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce take on the matter!
