It was 11 January, 2001. Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna's faction entertainer Narasimhanaidu hit the screens as a Sankranthi gift. The film carried stupendous hit talk from the morning shows itself. Eventually, the film stood as the third industry hit for Balakrishna's career.
Narasimhanaidu crossed the collection records of all the previous industry hits and minted a total of Rs.22 crores in its full. Also, the film ran 100 days directly in 102 centres.
Balakrishna enacted a total of 26 films after Narasimhanaidu. Simha and Legend became the blockbusters while Lakshmi Narasimha and Gauthamiputra Satakarni stood as super hits. Chennakesavareddy registered an above average. Rest of the 21 films became failures.
Balakrishna's fans, however, developed an unrest on one particular factor. Ever since the release of Narasimhanaidu, Balakrishna hasn't delivered another industry hit. By means of this, there has been no industry hit for Balayya for the past 20 years.
Balakrishna is currently working for Boyapati Srinu's film. Fans pinned hopes that the deadly combo's film would become an industry hit (non BB). Of late, Balakrishna's films are collecting less than Rs.20 crore share. Can Balakrishna raise the bar to Rs.165 crore share to cross the latest industry hit (non BB) Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo's full run share? Only time will answer our question.
