Review 2020: Hero of the Year

Year 2020 witnessed just a few releases with the prevailing pandemic situation. Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun are the only big heroes to have got their films released in theaters. 

Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo which hit the screens as a Sankranthi gift registered an industry hit (non BB) at the box office with Rs.162+ crores share collections worldwide. Obviously, the hero of the biggest hit, Stylish Star Allu Arjun has emerged as the 'Hero of the Year, 2020'. 

Allu Arjun's all round performance as Bantu, stole the show and spun money at the ticket windows.

Post the success of AVPL, Stylish Star's image increased by leaps and bounds. His ongoing pan Indian film Pushpa is being made in five languages such as Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil. The film is set for release during Dussehra, 2021.

On the other side, Allu Arjun has become one of the highest paid actors of Tollywood.

Mahesh Babu's Sarileru Neekevvaru stood as the second biggest hit of the year with Rs.125 crores worldwide share collections.
