Supreme hero Sai Dharam Tej and Nabha Natesh starrer upcoming satire comedy film Solo Brathuke So Better directed by Subbu is gearing up for release soon. The film’s censor formalities were also completed. Now, many wonders, how could makers cancel OTT deal and got nod for theatrical release.
Actually, the film’s complete rights- theatrical and digital rights were sold to ZEE for Rs 32.5 Crores, much before corona pandemic and the concurrent lockdown. They initially planned to release the film in summer. But the lockdown forced the postponement. Then, they thought of releasing the film directly on ZEE 5. They changed their mind, as theatres will be re-opening soon in Telugu states.
The makers are said to be mulling over the idea of simultaneous release of theatrical and OTT. As per the plan, Solo Brathuke So Better will have simultaneous release in theaters and ZEE5 OTT platform. One need to pay and watch the film on OTT.
Earlier, Kamal Haasan planned to implement the same strategy for Vishwaroopam 2, but he failed. He planned direct DTH release along with theatrical release on same day.
Now, makers of Solo Brathuke So Better are planning simultaneous release of the film in theaters and OTT. Those who don’t want to go and watch the film in theaters can watch it on ZEE 5. This indeed is a good strategy from the makers!
