India's legendary singer Sripathi Panditharadhyula Balasubrahmanyam aka Sp Balasubrahmanyam passed away at MGM Healthcare, Chennai, at 1:04 pm on Friday, 25th of September, 2020 leaving crores of his fans into dismal state. 

SP Balu was 74 and is survived by a wife, a son and a daughter. SPB was born on 4 June, 1946 in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh state. He was a versatile personality and proved his mettle as a singer, n actor, a dubbing artist, a host of TV musical shows, a music director and a film producer.

SP Balu lent his voice for more than 40000 songs in 16 Indian languages. He crooned for the first time for Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna released in 1967. 

Having been tested COVID 19 positive with mild symptoms, SPB joined MGM Healthcare, Chennai on August 5. Although, he was tested COVID negative, his health condition was kept on deteriorating with days passed by. He had been treated under ECMO support in ICU. Though the renowned doctors at national and international level tried their best to save the life of Balu, all their attempts ended up a failure. 

Given his astounding performance as a singer, SPB received many awards and honours. He was the recipient of India's third biggest civilian award Padma Bhushan. He was the winner of 6 national awards and 10 Filmfare best singer awards. 

Unquestionably, Sp Balasubrahmanyam's demise is an irrecoverable loss to the Indian film industry. Cinejosh is deeply saddened with the demise of this all time legendary singer of India. Condolences to his family members. May his soul rest in peace!
