Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma is known for his bizarre actions. Meanwhile, he surprised all saying he felt like punching the Oscar winner. Recollecting an incident on the eve of his blockbuster film Rangeela completing 25 years, RGV shared the following thoughts.

He said, “I and Rahman went to Goa to shoot for Rangeela in 1995. We stayed in two separate rooms. I have worked with many people but Rahman is special and completely different. He never shows his anger on anyone. However one time I felt like punching him on his face”.

RGV continued, “The entire unit got ready to shoot the song Hai Rama. However Rahman did not give the tune. When we went to Goa, he told me that he is doing something different and will give him the tune the next day. When I went the next day, he told me he would give me in the evening. I got angry and shouted ‘Rahman I have to shoot the song. How can I shoot if I do not have the song’.”

RGV revealed, “Rahman explained saying ‘Ramu Garu… A small request to you. Whenever I work for you and during song composition, do not give me the room that has TV in it. I spent the entire day watching TV’”. Rahman’s answer shocked RGV.

Rangeela starred Amir Khan, Jackie Shroff, Urmila Matondkar in the lead.
